In this ongoing class, each week will explore a different theme ranging from rocks and crystals, to fossils, volcanoes, and landforms. Learners may bring rocks to share and at home science and art activities will be provided.
Class experience
US Grade 3 - 6
Gain an introduction to the many branches and fields of geology through hands on science experiments, creative art projects, discussion, specimen identification, slideshows, and games. Erupt volcanoes while learning about the rock cycle, create fossils while learning about paleontology, learn to identify rocks and fossils, test minerals, or build a landform diorama. Learn interesting facts and concepts about the fields of geology, volcanology, seismology, paleontology, or mineralogy depending on weeks joined!
I am offering this class because I am experienced in teaching about the rock cycle and have had a lifelong passion for geology, ever since I was growing up in the Rocky Mountains and won my third grade science fair project with a rock cycle experiment!
