My goal is that students learn to love the study of geography! Students will learn how to read a map and study a globe. They will learn about new places and their important facts. They will make friends and practice talking and listening, taking turns, and other classroom manners. Students who join this ongoing class regularly will have begun to create their own US Travel Atlas!
I live and homeschool in a family of history- and geography NERDS. We live for history and geography around here! More professionally, I’m a teacher and homeschool educator in my third decade of sharing my love of learning with kids Preschool through 8th Grade. I'm a trained Early Childhood Educator with Montessori- and Emilia-Reggio classroom experience. I have been teaching small groups online and out in the world since long before I began homeschooling my oldest child in 2012. As an American Studies major at UC Berkeley, I researched Classical Education theory and practice in the US and I minored in Classical Studies, the history and cultures of Ancient Greece- and Rome. As a former working class kid, I believe that every child should have access to a high-quality liberal arts education. I offer learning opportunities that exceed state standards and spark a deep love of learning. I love my work helping families access a top quality education out of the private schools and into the home.

At the grade school level I teach landmarks, animals, food, flags, and so forth.
To create my lessons, I will draw from websites: National Geographic Education Google Maps and books: DK Countries of the World DK World Geography and Cultures DK First History Encyclopedia Kingfisher History Encyclopedia
