 Week 1
Lesson 1
Alaska and Hawaii
We will play an Iditarod Mush activity and/or a Totem Pole fill-in activity. We will look at places to visit in Alaska. We will also play a Princess fill-in and/or a Hawaiian Language Logic game. We will look at places to visit in Hawaii.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Oregon and Washington
We will play a Who Ordered What? game and/or The Oregon Trail math game. We will look at places to visit in Oregon. We will also play a Museum of Flight game and/or a What's in a Name? game. We will look at places to visit in Washington.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
California and Idaho
We will play a Constellations game and/or a Farmer's Market game. We will look at places to visit in California. We will also play the "A" Team game and/or a Fiddling Around activity. We will look at places to visit in Idaho.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Nevada and Montana
We will play a game Moccasins and/or a Tackle Box activity. We will look at places to visit in Nevada. We will also play an A-maze-ing activity and/or a Menu activity. We will look at places to visit in Montana.

Lesson 5
Wyoming and Colorado
We will play a Sand Dune game and/or a Ski game. We will look at places to visit in Wyoming. We will also play a Spinning Wheels activity and/or a Tour Option game. We will look at places to visit in Colorado.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Utah and The West Review
We will do a Petroglyphs activity. We will look at places to visit in Utah. We will do a state identification page and play a memory game as a review of the West.
 Week 7
Lesson 7
Arizona and New Mexico
We will do an Innertube Race activity and/or a Navajo Blanket patterning activity. We will look at places to visit in Arizona. We will play a Hip, Hip Array game and/or a Turquoise Trail activity. We will look at places to visit in New Mexico.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Oklahoma and Texas
We will play an Oklahoma Lightning Fast game and/or a Strike it Rich game. We will look at places to visit in Oklahoma. We will play a Brand Names game and/or a Cadillac Ranch activity. We will look at places to visit in Texas.
 Week 9
Lesson 9
The Southwest Review
We will look at places to visit for each state of our review. We will do a state identification page and play a memory game as a review of the Southwest.
 Week 10
Lesson 10
North Dakota and Nebraska
We will play a Rails to Trails game and/or a Something's Fishy activity. We will look at places to visit in Nebraska. We will also play a Bonanza game and/or a Finish At the Fort activity. We will look at places to visit in North Dakota.
 Week 11
Lesson 11
South Dakota and Kansas
We will play a game called Birdbrained and/or a Wizard of Oz game. We will look at places to visit in Kansas. We will also play a Cannot Pop This game and/or a Once Upon a Time activity. We will look at places to visit in South Dakota.

Minnesota and Iowa
We will play a Cherry Red game and/or a Stone Truth game. We will look at places to visit in Minnesota. We will also play a Pass the Popcorn game and/or a Spinning Wheels activity. We will look at places to visit in Iowa.

Missouri and Wisconsin
We will play an In the Cards activity and/or a Meet Me in St. Louis game. We will look at places to visit in Missouri.. We will also play a Clowning Around game and/or Til' the Cows Come Home game. We will look at places to visit in Wisconsin.

We will do a Flying Buffaloes activity and/or an UNscramble game. We will look at places to visit in New York. We will also play a Dutch Treat activity and/or a Sweet Treat activity. We will look at places to visit for Pennsylvania.

Maryland and Delaware
We will play a Quacking the Code game and/or a Train of Thought game. We will look at places to visit in Maryland. We will also do a Parlor Puzzle activity and/or a Splat game. We will look at places to visit in Delaware.

We will play a Isabela game. We will look at places to visit in Puerto Rico. We will do a territory review page and play a memory game as a review of the inhabited territories of the United States.

The Uninhabited Territories and Review
We will look at the uninhabited territories of the United States. We will play a cooperative game where we will collect islands. We will play a memory game as a review of the uninhabited territories of the United States.
  • Learners will be able to identify the fifty states, where they are located on a map, and their capitals Learners will be able to identify the state abbreviations
  • Learners can take notes about each state and color the state flag Learners will be able to learn the state birds, flowers, and flags Learners will identify places of interest, major National Parks, and Landmarks

Mastery Evaluation
Frequency: 7 or more throughout the class

Details: Each week handouts will be sent for learners to color each state's flower, bird, mammal, and tree. Each week learners will have the opportunity to write about the state's nickname, places of interest, and landmarks. Learners will also find out the abbreviation of each state, the capital and be able to color a picture of each state's flag.
Certificate of Completion
Frequency: 1 after class completion
Details: Each learner will receive a certificate of completion after attending the 33 weeks of this course.
