Class Experience

US Grade 3
Hello Little Adventurers!

This ongoing class is based on the UK national curriculum for Year 4, incorporating a range of geographical topics and concepts aimed at UK Year 4 / US Grade 3. This balanced and well rounded curriculum included 40 classes over one academic year.

In this inquiry based class learners will make real world connections in a meaningful and engaging way. Inquiry based learning puts learners at the center of their education and encourages them to go further than simply remembering facts! In this class curious learners will be encouraged ask questions and participate in discussion drawing on their own experiences.

Class sizes are kept small to facilitate class discussions and conversations and ensure that all learners have a safe space to share! Some classes may require learners to bring something that relates to our topic of the week. Some classes may have a simple hands on activity such as creating a map. Any hands on activity will require minimal preparation and commonly found household items. You will receive a supply list if needed on the Monday before class starts.

Each class will also come with a worksheet - in some classes this will be completed during the class and for some classes it can be completed outside of class. The worksheet will have a combination of information such as key definitions and activities. Worksheets are kept simple so they can be easily replicated by grownups if you cannot or do not wish to print! Worksheets can be kept together to create a workbook.

At the end of each class learners will be provided with optional homework to further their learning.

A typical class may look like this:
- Welcome and Greetings
- What do we already know? What do we want to know?
- Content Learning and Discussion - Real life objects and PowerPoint presentations will be used to facilitate this!
- Activity (game, quiz, worksheet)
- Taking it Further! - Homework for the week to apply or further the learning from the class!
-Wrap Up and Goodbye!
