US Grade Kindergarten
In this lesson students will learn and will develop how do we find our way around the world. We start with by exploring maps—looking at different types of maps and how to read them. Students will likely respond by describing the different people and animals that they see, perhaps noting that some of the places or animals seem familiar. Students will learn about many different places around the world and the people and animals who live there. Students will learn vocabulary words, and name different maps that are used. We will use slides, games, review lesson, read out loud, and discussion. Previous knowledge is helpful but not necessary.
Learning Goals
Students will learn what are maps, how we use them, finding locations of cities and rivers. What is a compass, new vocabulary words that relate to the lesson.

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is helpful in case of technical difficulty or help for logging on to the zoom. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for each week for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
