Geography Club: Travel and Learn About the World You Live In!

I created this class so that students can share their love for travelling and discovering the world. I’ve always loved to travel and wanted to create a course where I can share my passion with my students. This class is a social club and students will travel to different countries around the world every week. I will facilitate the lesson with information and questions for each country. We will discuss geographical location, language, food, currency, music, landmarks, and more. I will try to cover as much as possible in every lesson but if we happen to talk a lot about certain things (because real interest and conversation), then we might not time to cover everything else in great depth. I will always let students know the country of the week so that they have enough time to do a bit of research on their own if they wish to. List of destinations (subject to change based on student interest): Week of November 18th: Portugal 🇵🇹 Week of November 25th: Guatemala 🇬🇹 Week of December 2nd: England 🏴 Week of December 9th: Thailand 🇹🇭 Week of December 16th: Snow Around the World ❄️🌎 ❄️Winter Break ❄️ Week of January 6th: New Year Around the World 🎉 Week of January 13th: New Zealand🇳🇿 Week of January 20th: Angola 🇦🇴 Week of January 27th: Greece 🇬🇷 Week of February 3rd: North Korea 🇰🇵 Week of February 10th: Iceland 🇮🇸 Week of February 17th: Brazil 🇧🇷 Week of February 24th: Turkey 🇹🇷 Week of March 3rd: Canada 🇨🇦 Week of March 10th: Vietnam 🇻🇳 Week of March 17th: France 🇫🇷 Week of March 24th: Kenya 🇰🇪 Week of March 31st: Australia 🇦🇺 Week of April 7th: Mongolia 🇲🇳 Week of April 14th: Turkey 🇹🇷 I will be using slideshows, videos, websites, personal pictures, and worksheets during this course. It’s a small class because so much of the lesson is discussion based. *If there is only one learner in a section, I will teach it for a few weeks (at least 3). If a second learner does not join after a few weeks, I will contact you to let you know when I intend to close the section.
