Class Experience
Students will demonstrate mastery of up to 31 concepts related to "Geography Bee 7: Australia/Oceana Ecosystem, Location, Movement-Let's Kahoot It!" by practicing for meaning, reviewing, completing a Kahoot game quiz and then reviewing errors. These concepts are embedded in middle school geography learning standards. Students will demonstrate thinking skills: chronology, statistical analysis and source analysis. National Geography Standards Addressed 4 The physical and human characteristics of places Places and Regions 5 That people create regions to interpret Earth's complexity Places and Regions 9 The characteristics, distribution, and migration of human populations on Earth's surface Human Systems 11 The patterns and networks of economic interdependence on Earth's surface Human Systems 13 How the forces of cooperation and conflict among people influence the division and control of Earth's surface Human Systems 15 How physical systems affect human systems Environment and Society 18 How to apply geography to interpret the present and plan for the future. Teacher qualifications: I am certified as a Social Studies Teacher in my state, and have taught Social Studies (including World Geography) for over 18 years. My classes have had lots of fun and engagement with Kahoot Challenges and other techniques for bringing fun to the classroom while building student skills. Highlights of Education: B.A. History, Master's Degree Public Policy, 30 credits beyond Master's including Education, Geography, History and English Language Arts. Optional. Students are encouraged to review the provided handouts before class. Student can also practice location with the online interactive games cited on the handout. These activities will improve the depth of their learning and also give them a competitive edge in the Kahoot challenge.

The Kahoot game quiz results will show student mastery of geography concepts and terms. Follow up discussion from the final class review will supplement those results. Mark ups and marginal notes on the handout of terms and ideas, plus online map practice (screen shot) & the certificate of achievement can serve as artifacts for a student portfolio
