One day class, students will show off their map skills. Draw states or a country, or maybe an island with its neighbors and indicate notable landforms as if you were viewing them from the window of an airplane.

What will be taught:
Students learn to create their own landforms on their map, creating a view from a window of an airplane. Students learn to identify the locations of their cities, capital, location, city in each neighboring state or country. 
Students decorate the frames of the window with a self selected design. 
Students define their areas in their regional maps. 
Students learn to construct a mental map of locales, regions, and the world that demonstrate their understanding of relative location, direction, size, and shape. 
Students use any geographic tools such as an atlas, data base, grid systems charts, graphs, and maps to generate and interpret their information. 
Students learn to locate and distinguish varies landforms and geographic features, such as mountains, plateaus, islands, and oceans. 
Students will initiate making world of art and design by experimenting, imagining and identifying content. 
What will be covered:
A review of different maps, continents, countries, does the student name cities, towns, on a map. 
Does the student understand the meaning of geography, harbors, peninsula, south and northern hemisphere etc. 
How will I teach it:
doc cam, discussion, interact with the teacher and engage. 
Great for students who love learning about maps and creating their own work of art.
Learning Goals
Students will challenge their skills in maps by making a works of art by designing and experimenting. Imagining and identifying location, landforms, geographic features, mountains, plateaus. Students construct their mental image map, regions and the world that shows that the student has an understanding of relative location, direction, size and shape.

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is helpful in case of technical difficulty or help for logging on to the zoom. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
Pre-Requisites
Some knowledge of maps and geography, people, places and the environment.
Supply List
What you need:
Any choice of medium such as crayons, colored pencils, markers.
Different maps will be provided on file for use.
