Description

Class Experience

-Students will visually explore the satellite and in-person photos of amazing geographic locations on Google Earth. 
-Students will use visual information to guess locations of the places. 
-Students will use visual and provided information about the locations to compare likelihood of visiting the location in person vs. visiting the location virtually. 
-Students will review/learn geographic vocabulary (ex- geyser).
I am a certified social studies teacher with over a decade of experience teaching a range of social studies classes to middle and high school aged learners.  I have a MA in Secondary Education, with a focus on Social Science subjects.  Geography is considered a social science subject and the locations used in this class are naturally-formed geographic places.  Google Earth is an educational technology tool, and I have a specialist degree in ed tech tools to enhance teaching and learning. 
No formal assessment.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
