Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 9
In this one-time class, learners will be able to see remote and amazing geographical locations throughout the Earth. I will be including additional information about the locations and asking questions throughout, such as "which continent do you think this location is on" and "which country do you think this is in?" as well as other interactive questions. Many of these locations are considered the most scenic and/or amazing locations on the Earth.

I will teach this class by encouraging student interaction and questions, while promoting them to think about how geographical features such as mountains, waterfalls, deserts etc... might limit the possibility of actually visiting the location vs. visiting it virtually.

Depending on the number of learners enrolled, and the interest in certain things being discussed, the outline may be adjusted slightly to allow for more depth and/or student led research. Students are encouraged to ask questions, if needed. A positive class culture is a must, so I prefer learners to take turns when participating and to treat each other respectfully.
Learning Goals
-Students will visually explore the satellite and in-person photos of amazing geographic locations on Google Earth.
-Students will use visual information to guess locations of the places.
-Students will use visual and provided information about the locations to compare likelihood of visiting the location in person vs. visiting the location virtually.
-Students will review/learn geographic vocabulary (ex- geyser).
