Class Experience

Do you love Genshin Impact? Perhaps you want to find more people your age to play with or maybe you need help beating some of the weekly bosses? In this ongoing club, we will meet to discuss and play Genshin Impact. I will facilitate activities and gameplay, students are invited to follow along or play independently.

Note that if we play, we may trade gamer information so that students can play the game together if they wish. They must be at least Adventure Level 16 to do so and not in a quest that disables co-op. Please note that many of the players in this class are joining from the American server. If you wish to meet others from a different server, please check out my other Genshin classes!

𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀:
𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴:
• For general inquiries and messages, please be advised that I will do my best to reply within 24 hours.

𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽:
• Please note, I log into all my classes ten minutes early. During that time, I will do my best to assist you if you require technical help. However, I need to begin class at the start time. If you are unable to connect, we may need to address technical issues after class.

𝗥𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘀:
• All of my classes operate under Outschool’s Standard Refund Policy: Refund within 24 hours of payment until your next meeting or lesson access begins. More information on this policy can be found here: https://support.outschool.com/en/articles/4626920-class-specific-refund-policies-and-automatic-refunds
• Payments for classes cannot be transferred to future weeks.
• If your learner misses a class meeting, you are not entitled to a refund. In the event that class is missed, a recording of the class will be available for you in the classroom after the session has been completed.
• This policy applies when you have notified me of an absence ahead of time; the payment holds your seat and gives you access to the recording.
• You may withdraw from the class and re-enrol if you do not wish to be charged during an extended period of absences. You may also opt for the pause feature but please note a pause does not hold your seat. If you wish to have your seat held, you can opt to pay for the subscription.
• Please note that due to safety policy - in the event where you are unable to attend the first class you have registered for, the recordings of the class will become available after your first live attendance.
• There are no discounts issued for siblings and/or the registration of multiple classes.

𝗣𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆:
• If a student is late, I will greet them and continue the lesson. I will not be able to reteach content. Once the session has ended, the recording will be available in the classroom.

𝗭𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
• If you have not completed the Outschool Learner Verification process, I will require you to begin every class with your webcam turned on. You may turn it off once you have been verified by me, if you wish.
• Learners who are not verified and do not connect to a webcam will be put into the waiting room until they are able to reconnect to the meeting with a working camera. If I am unable to verify a learner during the class time, I will follow-up with both the adult who registered the learner and Outschool's Trust and Safety Team.
• If a class is full, I may review “mute”, “unmute”, and “raise hand” options for effective classroom communication
• I may call on learners and help facilitate conversation; I ask that only one person speak at a time.
• Learners may use the “chat” feature to communicate
• If learners are not able to use the "chat" feature in a respectful way (ie. they spamming the chat or being inappropriate), the chat may be set so that learners are only able to speak with the instructor.
• If a learner is unable to adhere to these guidelines or is being disrespectful, they will be given up to two warnings. If a learner continues with disrespectful behaviour they may be put into the waiting room or be asked to leave; they can follow the rest of the class through the recording posted in the classroom.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Genshin Impact is a Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MORPG) which users can interact both to online players and fictional characters, with this Mihoyo limits and requires a parental or any guardian consent before creating an account in Genshin Impact. You can control how players interact to others online via the Family Settings on the system you are using. It's also important to play the game together with your learner and set boundaries about online communication. I have designed this class so that younger learners can connect with other players of a similar age and reduce risk of playing the game with strangers.

Hello!

I'd like to thank-you for taking a moment to learn more about me.

My name is Rae and I have been a full-time instructor on Outschool since 2021. I am passionate about arts, media, technology, learning, and the way that they correlate with each other. I offer drawing classes and social clubs based on special interests.

I received my BA in Theatre and English from the University of the Fraser Valley. During my time there, I directed and performed in a number of stage productions including: Once in a Lifetime by Moss Hart; Arabian Nights by Mary Zimmerman; and Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Theatre is an important aspect of my life: it has taught me to be confident, how to collaborate with others, and how to manage multiple projects with close deadlines. These are transferable life skills that have helped in every aspect of my life.

My approach is encouragement and reciprocal curiosity. I take a genuine interest from the input of my students because they offer bright ideas and I firmly believe that we learn and grow from each other. I am happy to hear about the special interests that your learner is passionate about and want every child to feel celebrated for who they are. My classroom rules all revolve around the idea of safety: be kind to each other, yourself, and the space you are working in.

I like to spend my free time tending to my plants, cooking healthy food, and playing video games such as Stardew Valley, Genshin Impact, and Final Fantasy.
