Week 1Lesson 1BudgetingStudents will work with decimals and whole numbers in order to apply properties of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to real world situations involving budgeting and money management.Week 2Lesson 2Data/StatesticsThis lesson will build upon basic ideas of mean, median, mode and variability in order to look at actual data and draw conclusions from it.Week 3Lesson 3Proportional ReasoningThis lesson will build upon the idea of proportional reasoning to solve problems, skills covered will be ratios, rates, and proportions in order to scale an object or picture.Week 4Lesson 4Proportional Reasoning Part 2Using art or architecture students will problem solve to scale a real life object either larger or smaller. They will need to develop a method for determining the unit and the ratio in order to build something to scale.
Students may need things in keeping with project design (construction paper, toothpicks, pencils, paint, etc)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
