In these 2 sessions we will learn basic principles in genetics, discuss examples of genetic diseases with different pattern of inheritance (dominant, recessive, x-linked) and also cancer development (which is usually not a genetic disease, but originated from mutations in genes). We will discuss research approaches for studying diseases (animal models) and stem cell research (example of dolly sheep) - importance and ethical questions. Worksheets with interactive activities will be uploaded...
Students will get introductory knowledge of genetic inheritance, diseases and research tools
