Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
This self paced class allows students to explore topics in genetics. Topics that will be covered include: what makes DNA, DNA and RNA replication, DNA mutations, protein synthesis, genes and alleles, Mendel's experiments with pea plants, Punnett squares, and how genetic information is passed down to the next generation.

This class will have videos made by the instructor and Powerpoints for students to follow along with. Although supplemental material is given, the assignments are based on the videos and Powerpoints only. The assignments are designed to allow the student to interact with the material, rather than just trying to memorize.
Learning Goals
Be familiar with the basic concepts of genetics.
