My degrees are a BS in Psychology, an MS in Mental Health Counseling and all but dissertation for a PHD in Psychology. I was a counselor for 10 years and have taught psychology courses for the past 20 years. I have a passion working with teenagers and hope to focus on topics in psychology that I have found my students to have enjoyed over the years. I am a Director of Education and Compliance for an educational facility.
Homework Offered
Articles to read; simple questions to answer each week. Three quizzes and a character analysis. This class can be taken for a grade or for a certificate of completion if the learner does not want to complete the weekly activities/assignments.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

I will provide any materials that are needed other than basic pen/pencil and paper.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is discussion at one point about cults (Jim Jones) and obedience to a cult leader as well as brief references to Hitler when we talk about Milgram's studies in Obedience. Violence is also mentioned when discussing the bystander effect and deindividuation but We do not go into graphic detail but it can be disturbing hearing about violence and mass suicides. The content is developmentally age appropriate. We also discuss drugs and mental illness. If a student brings up inappropriate content for the class or appears to be emotionally bothered by any of the topics I will follow up with the student and/or parent.
I will provide hand-outs as well as link to articles for the learners to read.
