Class Experience
This course is designed for students who have already completed a fifth grade math curriculum as a Summer review before entering sixth grade. Students will have plenty of opportunities to work with partners and play small group games. It is important for students to be active participants in class. We believe in creating a classroom community where all students feel valued and safe to make mistakes and celebrate each other's successes. We will guide student learning to meet each student...
Students will gain confidence entering 6th grade math. Students will improve their understanding of the math topic being taught that week. Students will be able to talk about their thought process when working through problems.
Our teachers are very familiar with the Singapore Math curriculum and both fifth and sixth grade common core math standards. We offer classes throughout the year that bring students through a full year of math curriculum. Both of our teachers have extensive virtual and brick and mortar and classroom teaching experience and degrees in the education field.
No Homework
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We utilize the Singapore Math curriculum and methodology of teaching.
