Class Experience
In this class, we will focus on your learner's needs and prepare a relevant, engaging class to cater to them and prepare them for the GCSE exam. **Please note, if you are looking for this class at another time, please message us with the day, time and time-zone and we will be happy to arrange it for you.** This class meets for 30 minutes. The GCSE Qualification is an in-depth exam that make learning English enjoyable, effective and rewarding. Our unique approach encourages continuous progression with a clear path to improve language skills. Classes will include a range of preparation for each part of the exam including: Week 1 - Cell Biology: Cell structure, Cell division, Microscopy Week 2 - Organisation: Digestive system, Enzymes, The circulatory system, Plant tissues Week 3 - Infection and Response: Pathogens, Disease prevention, Vaccination, Immune system Week 4 - Bioenergetics: Photosynthesis, Respiration Week 5 - Homeostasis and Response: Nervous system, Endocrine system, Reproduction Week 6 - Inheritance, Variation, and Evolution: Genetics, Evolution, Natural selection, Week 7 - Genetic engineering Week 8 - Ecology: Ecosystems, Biodiversity, Food chains, Human impact on the environment Week 9 - Atomic Structure and the Periodic Table: Atomic models, Electronic configuration, Periodic trends Week 10 - Bonding and Structure: Ionic, Covalent, and Metallic bonding, Properties of substances Week 11 - Quantitative Chemistry: Relative formula mass, Moles, Conservation of mass, Concentration calculations Week 12 - Chemical Changes: Reactivity series, Extraction of metals, Acids and alkalis, Electrolysis Week 13 - Energy Changes: Exothermic and Endothermic reactions, Bond energies Week 14 - Rates of Reaction: Factors affecting rate, Catalysts, Collision theory Week 15 - Organic Chemistry: Hydrocarbons, Crude oil, Polymers Week 16 - Chemical Analysis: Testing for gases, Chromatography, Purity Week 17 - The Atmosphere: Composition of the atmosphere, Pollution, Climate change Week 18 - Energy: Energy stores and transfers, Conservation of energy, Power, Efficiency Week 19 - Electricity: Circuit components, Ohm’s law, Resistance, Series and parallel circuits Week 20 - Particle Model of Matter: States of matter, Density, Changes of state, Internal energy Week 21 - Forces: Newton’s laws of motion, Speed, Velocity, Acceleration, Forces and motion, Momentum Week 22 - Waves: Properties of waves, Electromagnetic spectrum, Sound waves, Light, Reflection, Refraction Week 23 - Magnetism and Electromagnetism: Magnetic fields, Electromagnets, Motors, Generators Week 24 - Atomic Structure: Isotopes, Radioactivity, Half-life, Nuclear decay Space Physics: The solar system, Life cycle of stars, Red-shift, The Big Bang Theory How will you teach? Our teaching style is dynamic and engaging. The class will be interactive and supportive of all needs. Students will get the opportunity to participate and complete their own tasks. The class will include a range of teaching methods including questions and answers; individual, paired and group activities; games and quizzes. Learners are encouraged to draw something related to the topic to share at the end of each class. What's your teaching style? We are a team of experienced teachers who are calm, patient and supportive whilst ensuring that the children are constantly learning. The environment will be dynamic and learners will actively participate throughout the class. As experienced teachers, we are capable of adapting our style to suit the learners. How much will learners get to interact with the teacher and each other? Students will be active participants throughout each class. Student talk time is expected to be significantly higher than teacher talk time. Any required experience or knowledge learners need? Learners can be at various stages of learning English.
