Beginner Level
What will be taught? In this one-time class, students will learn the basics of creating a container garden, including selecting containers, choosing the right soil and plants, and understanding how to care for their garden indoors. What topics will you cover? Introduction to container gardening Selecting the appropriate containers and soil Choosing suitable plants for indoor growth Planting techniques and arrangement Basic plant care and maintenance Tips for troubleshooting common gardening issues How is your class structured? The class is structured as a 45-minute interactive session that includes a mix of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on activities. Students will follow along with their own materials to create a simple container garden during the class. How will you teach? I will teach through a combination of live demonstrations, interactive discussions, and guided hands-on activities. Visual aids, such as slides and video clips, will be used to illustrate key points and provide examples. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is engaging and hands-on. I focus on making the material accessible and fun, encouraging student participation and fostering a supportive learning environment. How much will learners get to interact with you? Learners will have multiple opportunities to interact with me throughout the class. This includes asking questions during the lecture, participating in discussions, and receiving guidance during the hands-on activities. The class will include time for a Q&A session at the end to address any additional questions or concerns.

Parental Guidance
This class involves using basic gardening tools and handling soil, which may cause minor messes. Ensure learners have a clean workspace and access to handwashing facilities. There are no official ratings or media content used in this class.

Students will need the following materials: paper towel tubes milk carton(s) 2L bottles scissors (preferably an adult with a box cutter) flowers, fruit, vegetables or herbs to plant watering can or cup filled with water dry towel seed starting mix (any brand is fine - if using seeds) small bag of garden soil (any brand is fine - if using plant starts) popsicle stick or tongue depressor permanent marker
