1 hour per week. Each week there will be a growing assignment. Parents can do these assignments with their children to enjoy the process of growing food together or they can have their student learn on their own with the instructions from the lessons and downloads.

Class Experience

Does your child want to get hands-on experience with gardening this summer? A four-week interactive course teaching the basics of growing pumpkins, tomatoes, cucumbers and melons is perfect for kids in any area. 

From a pumpkin challenge to step-by-step instructions, video lessons and downloadable resources - each project teaches something new that can be implemented in practice in a hands-on approach for all types of learners. 

Students will learn: 
1. How to grow pumpkins to enjoy for the harvest in the fall
2. How to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, and melons
3. How to support the growth of garden fruits and veggies in the heat of summer
4. How to grow in small and large spaces for success

Supplies List: 
1. pumpkin seeds
2. 1 tomato plant
3. 2 basil plants
4. 1 marigold plant
5. cucumber seeds
6. melon (of any kind) seeds
Soil and area to grow in. 

Even if you have no garden setup or are an experienced gardener with green thumbs in the family, children will gain an understanding of how gardens work in the summer heat while having fun along the way. By the end, they’ll know all there is about creating their own successful summer garden!
