Teacher expertise and credentials
I truly believe that kids should learn about nature and growing plants from a young age as important members of our ecosystem. Working with children is a passion of mine as I love to make learning fun!

Gardening, Florida Ecology, and Sustainability classes will be offered to students from 5 years old to 10 years old. All of my experiences working with growing food, creating Florida native ecosystems, and leading sustainability efforts around Orlando, Florida has prepared me to be a well experienced and educated teacher, ready to get the ball rolling with classes!

I have over 7 years of garden education experience. I have taught at Inspiring Minds Day School in Windermere, Florida for over 3 years. I acted as Horticultural Specialist and Live-In Caretaker to Historic Botanical Nehrling Gardens for four years, creating a garden education program. I have worked since 2015 with an acclaimed urban agriculture program called Fleet Farming as a Urban Agriculture Farmer and Educator. Fleet Farming is part of our environmental non-profit IDEAS For Us that leads sustainability education and action all across the world. I have taught at conferences and groups from 50 - 100 adults to smaller hands-on homeschool classes for kids.

I have a degree in Landscape and Horticulture Technology from Valencia College, a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies from Rollins College, and numerous awards including serving as the International Arboriculture Society's Student Ambassador in 2015 and as a consistent Bloom and Grow Scholarship Winner from 2013-2016.

When I am not gardening, I love to rollerblade and hangout with my big fluffy cat Freya.
