Garden Art Tea Party With Monet
Students will look at and appreciate the wonderful garden art of Monet; we will also be creating art to Tchaikovsky: Waltz of the Flowers!
Class experience
In this class students will learn to appreciate the garden art of Monet. We will look at several Monet paintings of water lilies and create a water lily painting learning techniques in watercolor and drawing using line and shape. We will also learn how to make a three-dimensional tissue paper water lily flower. We will look at Monet's "Butterfly Man" and create an insect with personality. Finally, we will talk about dancing flowers and listen to Tchaikovsky: "Waltz of the Flowers" and do...

1. Students will appreciate the art of the master artist Monet. 2. Students will learn techniques in media and mixed media. 3. Students will appreciate Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Flowers" and do art to the music. 4. Students will learn personification giving human characteristics to a garden insect.

I will be using a screen share version of Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Flowers" referenced in the Wikipedia. No account is required. It is just the music, and we will be looking at Monet's paintings of gardens and flowers while listening and doing art to the music. I will have shown them step by step how to do different kinds of simple flowers and adding personification to them by making them look like they are dancing.
We will listen to a utube rendition on Tchaikovsky: Waltz of the Flowers. All of Monet's pictures used are in the public domain. I have created the sample pictures.
