Students will present their songs in class or through the classroom portal. Songs will be assessed and feedback will be given by the teacher.Class Experience
This class will train students how to use GarageBand for writing songs. No previous music experience is necessary. Students will learn how the software works, how to record tracks, how to use loops and how to arrange the instruments and receive hands on experience working through the software Lesson one will have a tutorial how to get started in GarageBand with step by step instructions in navigating the layout and how to create songs using tracks, loops and recordings. Lesson two will give student's practical experience creating a song using loops and song samples. Lesson three focuses on song arrangements using musical styles (rock, hip hop, jazz). Students will create a song using drum tracks, guitar, piano and vocal tracks. Lesson four will give students the tools for adding effects and exporting songs. By the end of class, students will have the knowledge and ability to create comprehensive songs with multiple tracks.

Hi. I am a teaching artist in the performing arts. I am an educator, performer, director, composer and playwright. I have a M.A. degree in Musical Theatre with a Certificate in Music Composition. I specialize in arts intergration for core subjects using music and drama.
I offer classes in music and theatre arts including general music, singing techniques, choral groups, music theory and composition, musical theatre techniques, acting basics, playwriting, piano and keyboard, intro to digital music, intro to music entertainment business.
