***Now that is is summer, let me know if you need me to open up a new time slot to fit your schedule. We can work something out! Class will begin with a check in. I like to check in with my students talk about any new events that have happened. The purpose of this is to get to know my learners as well as create a safe space for everyone to communicate openly and freely. Students will review classroom rules and be reminded of the golden rule (kindness). I review how students can show kindness during class. Finally, we will play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Students will get to race and or battle depending on the groups interests. We will vote on which maps to play, so everyone has a chance to pick a map. I will also encourage conversation throughout, so students can talk and converse with other gamers with similar interests. I have structured my ongoing classes so students make friends, and students look forward to class to talk and play with their friends. Everyone who has Mario Cart 8 Deluxe is welcome to join the class. If your learner is new to the game, they may experience some frustration at first, but will improve over time. Mario Cart 8 Deluxe is a very to get the hang of which allows most people to enjoy it.

Hello,
My name is Sarah De Los Santos and I am a third year kindergarten teacher. I am so grateful that I have finally achieved my goal in becoming an educator, and I am especially grateful that I get to teach kindergarten. I have a passion for teaching social-skills, communication, and problem-solving, and this is so essential in Kindergarten. I have also been teaching on Outschool for over 2 years. Outschool allowed me to teach social-skills, communication, and problem-solving in a time was impossible for people to come together in person. I was able to create fun and enjoyable classes that incorporated play and gaming to ease students into a social environment to help them learn or build on their social-skills, communication, and problem-solving skills.
As an educator my ultimate goal is to provide students with necessary skills to succeed in life, and while subjects like math are important, I strive to teach students skills like problem-solving and communication because these are the skills that are needed to live productive lives while in turn help with the core subjects. Therefore in my classes you will find that my focus is on character development that focus on improving life skills such as, problem solving, goal setting, communication, and positive mental attitude through more creative outlets such as bullet journaling, video games and other types of creative outlets. My goal is to reach students on a personal level to get them motivated and empower them to become the best version of themselves.
