In this weekly class students will think like a designer to create projects in p5.js. Students will learn various coding skills.Throughout the weekly lessons coding skills will include sequencing, loops, conditionals, variables, sensors, operators, debugging and more. The class will be highly interactive since we cap our classes at 6 students. After completing these classes, students will be comfortable coding and creating projects with p5.js. Even more importantly, they will have gained an understanding of foundational coding concepts including sequencing, loops, conditional statements, and variables. At Cypher, our goal is to help students become future-ready, and we know that these core skills will serve our students for the rest of their lives.
Your student will need: - A p5.js account. Visit hhttps://editor.p5js.org/ to create a free account. - Access to a laptop or desktop computer with Zoom installed and screen-sharing enabled - An internet connection of 3mbs+ - A working speaker, microphone and webcam - all Windows and Mac operating systems of the past five years are supported Note: iPads are not recommended, but reach out to our team if you have any questions. Please make sure an adult is on hand for the first five minutes of class to help set-up and tackle troubleshooting.

Students will use p5.js to participate in class. Students must access their own p5.js account using a laptop or a computer in class (no smartphone or tablets). Students will use their own account to code while following instructions from the teacher.
