Class Experience

Socialize and have fun with this one-time game class. In this 45-minute class, I will teach the basics of playing UNO and we will play 3 or more rounds of UNO. This is a multiplayer card game in which each student plays in every round until they “go out.”

There are opportunities to reverse, skip, make others draw cards, change the color, and more. This usually leads to fun and entertainment when one person ends up with lots of cards and comes back to win. If they are down to one card, they better not forget to call UNO!

Some important information about the class:
-	The students will be sent to a website and given a class code.
-	There will be no app or software to download.
-	There will be nothing to purchase.
-	No printing will be required.
-	No prior knowledge is required, but it is helpful if the student has some knowledge of the game UNO. I will teach the students how to play UNO
-	The game is very user friendly and will tell the student which cards they can play, so even students unfamiliar with the game can play successfully.
-	The game is teacher and student tested- it has been played many times in my, "It's All Fun and Games" class.
-	Only private rooms will be used, so no outside players will be playing along.
-	I will provide the game website in the classroom welcome page.
-	The classroom code will be provided just prior to the start of class.
-	Please make sure that the website is not blocked / does not have parental permissions.

Some important information about my classroom policies:
-	I encourage students to remain unmuted and to keep cameras on, but I understand that some students will not be comfortable with their cameras on. Students are welcome to keep cameras off and remain muted once they have identified themselves on camera, as per Outschool rules.
-	I will only mute a student if their background noise or talking hinders the other students’ game play, but I will usually ask the student to mute themself, if possible.
-	I encourage students to laugh, have fun, talk, and enjoy themselves during class- that’s what this class is for.
-	No bullying, inappropriate language, or other unsuitable behaviors will be tolerated.

Learning Goals

Students will learn social skills and have fun, while also learning or re-learning the game of UNO.
