US Grade 3 - 5
In this interactive, game-based course, your child will embark on an educational journey powered by two thrilling platforms: Prodigy and Boddle. These immersive, kid-friendly games combine fun challenges with valuable learning opportunities to enhance skills in reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary.

Throughout this course, students will level up their understanding of key ELA concepts while solving engaging quests and tackling in-game obstacles. Using Prodigy’s magic-infused world and Boddle’s playful environment, students will sharpen their critical thinking, reading comprehension, and communication skills—all while having fun! Each session focuses on game-based missions that reinforce ELA skills in ways that make learning feel like a thrilling adventure.

Whether they're battling dragons in Prodigy or solving puzzles in Boddle, your child will develop confidence and enthusiasm for language arts. By the end of the course, they’ll have improved not just their ELA skills, but also their ability to problem-solve, collaborate, and think creatively.

Learning Goals

Enhance Reading Comprehension: Students will develop their ability to read and understand texts, improve their vocabulary, and answer questions based on key details, themes, and context through interactive gameplay in Prodigy and Boddle.
Master Grammar and Language Mechanics: Through in-game challenges and puzzles, students will reinforce essential grammar skills such as sentence structure, punctuation, parts of speech, and correct usage, all while advancing in the game.

Mr. Michael Gipson has been in education for the past 18 years. I have taught 5th grade for two years and also taught and was an administrator for a school age mixed age group program for three years. I have two years of experience teaching preschool education and substitute taught from 2005 until 2019. I have previously conducted online tutoring sessions for several years. I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Elementary Teacher Leadership with a Reading endorsement for all grade levels from Murray State University. I am currently working on my Doctorate of Educational Leadership degree and plan to be completing this program through the University of the Cumberlands either in the Spring 2026 or Fall 2026. My teaching style is student-centered, fostering an environment where students feel comfortable exploring and asking questions. I strive to create a supportive atmosphere that encourages curiosity and a love for learning. By incorporating game-based learning, I aim to make math relatable and enjoyable for all students.
