What's included
Class Experience
Students will learn how to make their own galaxy jar, galaxy soap, galaxy bouncy ball and galaxy slime by following step by step instructions as I model how to create each of these crafts. Prior to creating the craft for the week, I will share photos and information about galaxies. Students will be encouraged to do some of their own research on galaxies as well, and share their research on our classroom page. Projects by week: Week 1- Galaxy Jar Week 2- Galaxy Soap Week 3- Galaxy Bouncy Ball Week 4- Galaxy Slime Classroom Interaction- Weekly posts: Students will interact with myself and each other by submitting a weekly post. The weekly post will include: 1. A picture of their project. 2. A short write up 1-2 new facts discovered through doing research about galaxies + thought on creating the project. *I will interact with students by providing written feedback on their posts and comments. Students will be encouraged to leave written feedback for each other as well. *After creating each project learners will talk about which project they enjoyed creating the most.

Galaxy Jar: -16oz Mason jar -Fine silver glitter -Bright purple, pink, blue Tempera OR acrylic paint(At least 2 colors are needed) -1-2 Bags of cotton balls -A cup with the same amount of water that will fill in the jar Galaxy Soap: -1.5 pounds melt and pour clear glycerin soap -1/2 tsp. Jojoba oil -10-15 drops of 2-3 of the following essential oils Eucalyptus, peppermint, rosemary, ylang ylang, chamomile -Soap colorant pink purple blue -Turquoise and/or silver biodegradable cosmetic glitter -Rectangle soap mold -Rubbing alcohol -3 microwave safe measuring cups or medium bowls -Spoons for mixing and measuring Galaxy Bouncy Ball: -1 cup water water -1 TBSP Borax -1-2 TBSP Elmers clear glitter glue Galaxy Slime: -Purple blue and pink food coloring -Fine purple glitter -Elmer's clear glue -Sta-flo liquid laundry starch -3 bowls (for each color galaxy slime) ADD TO EACH BOWL: 1/2 cup glue 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup laundry starch purple glitter food coloring
