In this ongoing book club, I will read one of the more than fifty scientific children's books authored by Gail Gibbons. Upon completion of the book, we will discuss the topic and create an activity to accompany our reading time.
Class experience
In this ongoing book club, I will read one of the many books authored by Gail Gibbons. Gail Gibbons is an accomplished writer and illustrator of more than fifty children's book (most all of them non-fiction). From firemen to vegetables to penguins to how a house is built, Gibbons covers them all. Upon completion of the book, we will discuss the topic and create an activity to accompany our reading time. Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom (including 4th grade and Texas History); substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level (History); assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. My Bachelors is in childhood education with a Master's in American History.
Homework Offered
Enrichment activities, while enhancing the overall student knowledge of the topic, will not be required for the book club.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Students will not need the book- I will read from my copy. Supplies will vary week to week, but basic school supplies (pencil, markers, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, glue, etc. will be the basic list unless otherwise noted.
