Do you want to become a nurse, doctor, surgeon or physical therapist? If you are looking to go into the field of healthcare this club is for you! We will explore a new healthcare topic or career each week.
Class experience
In this club we will explore the wide world of healthcare. Each week, in our 30 minute session, we will discover a new and interesting healthcare topic and allow for student choice. This club is all about you and what you want to learn. For example, what does it take to become a pediatric nurse? What is cancer and why do we get it? How can I stay healthy during a pandemic? We will even participate in some hands on labs and perform virtual surgeries. There are so many things to learn and...
Throughout this course/club, students will learn a large variety of healthcare topics in order to prepare them for the post-secondary world. They will also develop community through relationship building among their peers. It is my goal that students will feel supported and inspired to reach their goals in the world of healthcare.
I am a licensed Registered Nurse and licensed CTE teacher in the state of Tennessee and Alabama.
All materials and documents will be provided by the teacher.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students may see images of wounds, lacerations, or surgical procedures when exploring healthcare topics or procedures.
