Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Students will occasionally begin each lesson with a short three-minute Youtube video as part of our lecture through screen sharing. We will proceed to learn new vocabulary pertaining to that day's lesson. Students may occasionally use handouts that must be pre-printed before class. At times they may receive instructions for fun lab activities to follow along in class or try at home.
There will be classroom discussion on skin care and products.
Day 1
We will spend a few minutes with a video intro, then discuss the parts of the skin and its purpose through coloring sheets and diagrams. Lear “What is the skin? How sensitive is our touch?”
Day 2 Why do people have a different skin color? Why is our skin sensitive? I will explain a home lab that will require another family member to try on them. This will be a homework assignment that the student fills out prior to the next class.
Day 3 What is a skin cancer? Observational online lab. Students will view and diagram different forms of skin cancer.
Day 4 Students will observe various types of skin problems. What should we do to take care of our skin properly? What are some homemade remedies for skin care? What are people buying on the market?
