Calling all future paleontologists! Are you ready to travel back in time and discover the dinosaurs that lived long ago? Then let's go! Learners will begin class with a quick ice breaker to help them get to know each other! They can bring a dinosaur toy or picture to class so that they can share their favorite dinosaur with others. We will look at pictures and learn fun facts about a different dinosaur each week. We will investigate what they looked like, what they ate, and where they...
This class is taught in English.
Learners will investigate different dinosaurs that lived long ago. Learners will practice their social skills by talking with friends and taking turns listening and speaking. Learners will improve their reading comprehension and vocabulary by listening to books. Learners will practice their creativity and fine motor skills by drawing. Learners will practice their writing skills by writing in complete sentences.
No homework is given.
Learners will need the one page handout for each week's meeting. Learners will need a pencil and art supplies such as markers, crayons, and colored pencils. Learners may want a notebook or a three ring binder to keep their weekly sheets together.
No assessments are given.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Some learners may be upset by dinosaurs eating other dinosaurs. Discussion of the food chain occurs in this class.
