Class Experience

Brain breaks are essential for children to reduce stress and frustration and increase attention and productivity. Studies show that taking regular brain breaks can improve on-task behavior, and academic performance. Brain breaks can also provide opportunities for students to develop creativity and social skills.

There is a need right now for students to have a place to connect with other students in a meaningful way, and practice conversational or story telling skills. Children need a creative outlet to reset and prepare their minds for the tasks and demands ahead of them. This class allows students to practice some of these skills in a relaxed environment, while sharing laughs and giggles together.

After introductions, I will spend a few minutes sharing funny jokes, riddles and stories to set the mood. Then we will spend about 15 minutes allowing each student to share humorous jokes and riddles they have prepared for the class. Students should practice their clean, family friendly jokes prior to class so they are prepared to deliver their best jokes. Only "school-appropriate," non-offensive jokes will be allowed in class, so please help students screen them before sharing. Come enjoy a brain break, and be prepared to leave with funny, new material to share with your family and friends. You won’t even realize you are practicing your public speaking, story telling, and listening skills! : )P

This class is suitable to become an ongoing class with student interest.

A little about me... I am a mom, wife, and teacher. I am a huge animal lover, and have several pets of my own. When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family outdoors biking, hiking, enjoying the beach or Disney, and exploring new adventures. Movies and game nights are also family favorites! I have a fondness for reading writing, and crafts, as well. I love meeting new students, connecting with others, and sharing the joy of learning.

I look forward to seeing you in my classroom soon. We are going to have a blast!

    ~Ms. Kelley
