Class Experience

Students will work on one of the most important life skills of all - cooking. They will learn about food safety and hygiene. Students will learn cooking tips. Students will practice measuring wet and dry ingredients.
Here are the supplies and ingredients needs for this recipe. It is highly recommended that students use an electric mixer (either stand or handheld) since we will whipping the heavy whipping cream. They will need a mixing bowl (or the mixing bowl that comes with the stand mixer). We will be using the whisk attachment for the stand mixer. Students will need a spatula, whisk, and measuring spoons and cups. Cookie sheet with parchment paper, extra mixing bowl with cooking spoon, whisk and spatula, One 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk (NOT EVAPORATED MILK) Vanilla extract 2 cups heavy cream salt 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract 1 teaspoon of almond extract 1/2 cup of sprinkles 1 box funfetti cake mix (you can also use another cake mix flavor if you'd like) extra sprinkles (optional) loaf pan for freezing the ice cream (you may use another container) plastic wrap 2 eggs 1/3 cup canola or other cooking oil
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
