In this class, students will review fundamental math skills to prepare for pre-algebra. Pre-Algebra is a big step in a student's math career, and without a strong foundation in certain concepts, learners will have difficulty learning algebraic concepts. This camp covers several important topics that will help students confidently approach pre-algebra. This course assumes that the student has completed elementary mathematics and is familiar with: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fraction basics. Students should be fairly confident in their times table and division facts up to 12x12. Topics Covered: Day 1: Adding, Subtracting, Multipying, & Dividing Fractions Day 2: Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, & Dividing Decimals Day 3: Fractions, Decimals, & Percentages Day 4: Order of Operations & Exponents Day 5: Variables & Simple Equations

As an accountant, I have expertise in mathematics and finance. I'm an Enrolled Agent and believe everyone should be proficient in budgeting and personal finance. I believe a strong foundation in math is important to develop advanced skills with numbers later in life. Likewise, strong grammar and language skills will help students communicate effectively and give them the tools to learn anything they'd like to. I'm also passionate about culture and language and have formally studied nine languages, including studying abroad. I want to share the world with students through language and exploration.
I hope to share my love of learning with each of my students as they explore their personal interests. In doing so, students will become lifelong learners and continue to grow in and out of the classroom.Reviews
