Description

Class Experience

Analyze the importance of macro- and micronutrients (nutrients) in choosing nutritious foods for an athlete. 
Analyze the impact of exercise-related anemia on an athlete’s fitness. 
Examine the relationship between nutrition and physical performance
Determine factors that influence an athlete’s health, fitness, and sports performance.
Learners will receive various worksheets and handouts for each class
Learners will receive weekly handouts, with worksheets from the teacher. Learners should bring a pen/pencil, notepad for writing down notes. A calculator is recommended for week 3 for calculating fluid requirements, but not required. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
