This six-week self-paced course on life skills will help students gain practical skills needed for daily life, such as cooking, laundry, and finances. Mastering these life skills boosts self-confidence and empowers teens to navigate daily challenges. Leaners are not required to have any specific background knowledge in order to enroll in this class. Topics include personal hygiene, nutrition, household chores/maintenance, time management and organization, safety and financial literacy. The class contains slides with a video narration from the teacher. The video can be played back as many times as needed. There is also an assignment with each of the six units. Students will be able to interact with the teacher via discussion board posts. The teacher will respond to any comments or questions the student has regarding any of the lessons.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to navigate tasks of daily living, specifically in the following six areas: 1) self care 2) nutrition and meal preparation, 3) household chores, 4) time management, 5) safety, and 6) financial literacy.

This lesson discusses the importance of personal hygiene, including daily routines and specifics such as handwashing, oral hygiene, showering, hair and nail care.
