US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Students should be starting to read CVC words (such as hat, bug, and tan) and CCVC words (such as frog, trip, swim and glen). These skills will be supported and practiced as well, so they do now need to be completely independent in reading these words yet. Each week, we will focus on a few word families. Some weeks will use diphthongs and other word families that are fundamental parts of phonics learning (-ay, -ow, -aw, -oy/-oi, -all, -ill, -ell, -ing, -ang, -ong, -ung, -or, -ar, -er/-ir/-ur, etc.) The teacher will use slides to review the target sound, and then the students will practice reading some words with the sound. Each week we will play a game at the end of class to practice. Week of February 28: ee (-een, -eet, -eek) Week of March 7: oo (-oon, -oom, -ook, -oot) Week of March 14: ea, oa (-eat, -eam, -oat, -oak) Week of March 21: ou (-out, -oud, oun) Week of March 28: r-controlled vowels part 1 (-or, -ar) Week of April 4: r-controlled vowels part 2 (-er/-ir/-ur) Week of April 11: double l (-all, -ill, -ell) Week of April 18: w endings (-ow, -aw, -ew) Week of April 25: oy/oi diphthong Week of May 2: no class Week of May 9: ng endings part 2 (-ing, -ung) Week of May 16: ng endings part 1 (-ang, ong) Week of May 23: nk endings part 1 (-ank, -onk) Week of May 30: nk endings part 2 (-ink, -unk) Week of June 6: ck endings part 1 (-ack, -ock) Week of June 13: ck endings part 2 (-ick, uck, eck) Week of June 20: ee (-een, -eet, -eek) Week of June 27: oo (-oon, -oom, -ook, -oot) Week of July 4: ea, oa (-eat, -eam, -oat, -oak) Week of July 11: ou (-out, -oud, oun)

Colorado Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hello! I am so excited to teach your child. I teach preschool and early elementary reading classes, and flexible schedule cooking classes. I have a degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University. I taught in Elementary Schools for 4 years before choosing to stay home with my daughters, where I spend a lot of time cooking and baking. I also spent a few months in Brazil where I taught English classes to children and adults. I love making learning fun! I look forward to seeing your child in my Outschool classroom!
