In art, something that looks like nothing can often be made into something fun and whimsical, like the birds we are going to create in this class. Students will use the wet-on-wet technique to create a puddle of paint. Next, I will show them how to use a straw to blow the paint into a pattern. Even though we will be turning our paint splatters into birds, the students will get a chance to share what else they think their splatters could be made into while we wait for them to dry. 1 file available upon enrollment**Supply list: -watercolor or mixed media paper, 5.5"x8.5" or similar, 140lb (thinner paper will soak up too much water and tear) -watercolor paints -paintbrush, one medium -black colored pencil, black crayon, or fine point black marker or pen -straw -1 cups of water -paper towel or dry rag
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
