In this one-time class, students will learn about action verbs. Then, they will also learn about, identify, and replace two common "state of being" verbs..."to be" (is/am/are/was/were/been/being) and "to have" (had/has/having) in the song.

First, students will be learning about action verbs via slides with pictures, etc...answering questions, and coming up with more verbs, as I check for understanding. We will then move on to two commonly used "state of being" verbs, which are special verbs that are not action verbs...."to be" (am, is, are, was, were, been, being) and "to have" (have, has, had, having), which are in the song. I'm a certified K-8th teacher with decades of experience teaching children, most often in K-3rd grades. I have subbed all grades, though, from Preschool-12th grade and have regularly taught ages 3-18, online, for over four years now, in multiple subjects. I was also a director of a daycare center before going back to school to do a Master's in Teaching Program (Summa Cum Laude). I have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration: Accounting, and I even went to law school! Teaching is my passion, though!
