I will provide a document with the material learned in class and with fun activities for your child to practice at home.Class Experience
In this ongoing class, we will meet weekly for three months to learn Spanish vocabulary and sentences related to specific communicative themes. This class is an A1 level based on the CEFR. You will learn a wide variety of Spanish through different forms of repetition; via fun games, activities and songs; and via interaction with other students. To help you grasp and assimilate the material, we will work on a specific theme for a few weeks, but each class we will work on the chosen theme in a different, fun way. The ultimate goal of this three-month series of classes is for you to be able to understand and readily use simple everyday sentences in a Spanish-speaking environment. For each class, I carefully select props and realia, and my puppet friends join the class to make it more fun. This is a beginner-level Spanish class, and it is suitable for students who have little to no prior experience with Spanish. In order to take part 3, students have to complete part 2. During my classes I use a Power Point presentation. Students will be provided with a handout related to each theme to work on at home. Some classes may have a class activity template for students to use during class. I will provide it to you the weekend prior to the class. Each theme will be covered in 3-4 classes depending on the group’s progress. The class schedule and content are subject to change in order to accommodate students' needs. This class meets once a week, but the classes or themes DO NOT build on each other, so if you miss a class, you can jump right back in! The topics will cycle back to the beginning every 3 months. My classes are limited to five students so that each one will have an equal opportunity to practice and receive timely correction. I am a native Spanish speaker and an ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language) certified teacher. My Puppet friends (Pancho, Beto, Lucía, and Moño) and I can't wait to hear your child speak Spanish with us while having fun!

¡Hola! My name is Profesora Mary, and I am excited to help your child learn Spanish.
I truly love working with children with my puppet friends: Pancho, Beto, Moño, and Lucía. Your child will love learning Spanish — at their pace — while playing games and singing songs with me and my friends. Your child will also have fun through my use of many props, including puffy animals, toys and more.
My ultimate goal when I teach is to make sure that my students obtain the skills to communicate in Spanish. I do this while making sure that my students have fun while learning. My class activities help students connect the learning material to their own world, facilitating language acquisition.
Teaching and learning languages are two of my passions. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to combine them and make them my profession. There is no other job that I could enjoy more, and I love to share my enthusiasm and energy with students in my classes.
I have worked very hard to be a qualified teacher, and I have achieved this through online and in-person teaching experience and by obtaining a number of certificates related to language instruction and teaching young learners. I am a certified ELE (Español como Lengua Extranjera - Spanish as a Foreign Language) Teacher and a native Spanish speaker.
I am a mom and some of my hobbies include learning languages, making crafts and playing the flute.
I look forward to helping your child learn!
