30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Evidence shows that when children learn to manipulate the sounds in words, it gives them the strong foundation to become strong readers. In this 30 minute class, students will do the following: * determine the beginning sound of a word after looking at a picture. * write the beginning and ending sounds they hear in a word. * identify and produce rhyming words. These skills will be taught through fun and engaging learning games and activities. Students will have the opportunity to share their answers with the other learners and take turns guessing the answer to some of my riddles. ** Although this is a one time class, different letters/sounds will be taught during each class with new activities, so students can repeat as many classes as they choose! **
Learning Goals
Students will master their phonics skills by engaging in fun and interactive activities.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello prospective parents and guardians!
My name is Maggie Waybright and I live in Atlanta, GA, USA! I am a mother of a 5 year old and a 2 year old. I received my Masters in Education from Brenau University. I have been teaching Kindergarten for the last 12 years. Through my experience as a mom and a teacher, my passion is developing a love of learning. I find that this is best done through learning disguised as play! When children feel connected and engaged to their teacher and peers, magic happens! I love building the foundation of early literacy! Giving students a strong foundation will set them up to be super learners throughout their school journey!
I plan to offer a wide variety of classes focusing on letters and sounds, rhyming, word families and sight words!
I can’t wait to play and learn!
