Fun With Phonics
This is an on going class where children will work their way through all 26 letters phonetic sounds. We will work together on works sheets, do a craft on the letter of the week and play games. Be ready to have some fun this is a very interactive class! We meet Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

We will learn the phonetic sounds of all 26 letters in the alphabet. Each week we will concentrate on learning the sound of 4 to 5 letters sounds of the alphabet. Each lesson will start with singing Do You Know These Letter Sound. Once they’ve learned this song and have memorized it, it is easy to refer back in the future for the sound of each letter. I will introduce the four or five letters each week with their sounds that we will work on. Each child will be asked to repeat the sound. We will continue the learning experience by playing games with Ike I spy, bingo and does this picture belong to this letter sound. We Will also be learning how to write the letters of the given lesson each week. This is a very interactive class where every child will have multiple opportunities to participate. This is an ongoing class that will meet three times a week. Dry erase board and dry eraser pen or chalkboard and chalk. Craft supplies, Color construction paper, scissors, glue markers or crayons.

I’m passionate about teaching phonics. No Child left behind. And I say that because I was one of those kids that got left behind. I missed out in kindergarten and first grade important building blocks. That managed to affect my Life for a very long time. It wasn’t until I went to Montessori training school that I was able to pick up those building blocks that I had missed. And then I was able to pick up my life and Move on. You see I didn’t learn phonics as a child. I learned it as an adult. And if you don’t know phonics you can’t read, and you definitely can’t spell. Here I was working in the corporate world trying to manage reading and writing. I love teaching kid Phonics, reading and spelling. I’d love to see their faces light up when they realize they can do those things. And to be able to have the joy of reading something that I missed out as a child. When you miss out those basics every class is a challenge.Reviews
