This fun, fall-themed crafting class makes use of those pesky fallen leaves scattered around your backyard! In this lesson, kids will enjoy creating several different seasonal crafts using natural leaves from their own home. Crafts include but are not limited to: animal leaf murals (turkey, hedgehog, etc.), leaf roses, autumnal monogram/letter plaques, fall wreaths, and leaf rubbing art. During this time of creativity, kids can also expect to learn fall themed facts or answer trivia questions, and they will be given the opportunity to show and tell about their creations to each other at the end of our lesson. No previous knowledge is necessary, but supervision of students is at the parent's discretion.

Parental Guidance
NOTE: Some of the tools required for this course (e.g. scissors) are considered hazardous for underage students. Therefore, they should only be used under direct parental supervision and/or at the parents discretion to ensure the safety of the student and to reduce the risk of personal injury. However, as per Outschool's policy, parents are required to stay out of sight of the camera during class time, but are welcome to be behind or otherwise non-visible during the lesson. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Supply List
Please bring a large collection of fall leaves to class (the more variety and volume the better!), colored craft paper, disposable paper or plastic plates, glue, crayons, white sheet paper, scissors, craft string, a pre-made monogram letter (store bought or cut out of cardboard/cereal box), and a marker.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have experience teaching students ranging from grade school ages into adulthood, tutoring 1-on-1, and teaching large groups. I was a language and art/music teacher in Europe for about a year, while traveling around Europe and the UK, where students came to learn English and study various topics through theatre and play activities. In the past, I've also taught kindergarten through 5th grade students in a US public school, and I taught ESL online for nearly 3 years as a certified teacher.
I graduated in 2017 from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. I am currently studying front-end web design while working as a private tutor and website creator. In my free time, I enjoy playing music on my ukulele, travel photography, and baking. I have a passion for all forms of art and the creative process that comes with it.
Whatever my current situation may be, I feel motivated to empower young students to realize their academic and creative potential through meaningful play and personal mentorship. I am looking forward to creating fun and productive courses through Outschool and I look forward to seeing you in my classroom soon!
