Description

Class Experience

As a Kindergarten teacher, experienced in student inquiry, I will build upon your child's love of hamsters! Students will learn some fun facts about hamsters.  They will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences with hamsters.  The students will then learn how to draw their very own cute hamster step-by step, through directed drawing.  Using my own easel, I will give your child step by step instructions to help them create their own adorable hamster drawing....

Students will learn facts about how to take care of hamsters.
Students will use their oral communication skills to ask questions and share experiences.
Students will develop fine motor control by drawing a hamster.
Students will develop listening skills, focus and creativity by completing a directed drawing of a hamster.

Students can follow up by drawing another hamster and teaching someone in their family how to draw one.

Pencil
Blank white paper
Black marker for outlining (optional)
Your choice of the following: crayons, markers, coloured pencils, watercolours

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
