Fun With Graphic Novels: Owly Book Club!

Join us as we discover the loveable world of Owly and Wormy, from the charming graphic novel series: Owly by Andy Runton. The goal of this book club is to help nurture students' love of reading, by introducing them to the engaging world of age appropriate graphic novels! This book series encompasses the important messages of friendship, acceptance, empathy and kindness. The author uses adorable characters, who communicate thoughts and emotions using symbols and expressions, as well as words.

Before class time, students will read, or listen to, the assigned book for the week. Students will need to bring a copy of the week's book to refer to during class. While in class, students will be encouraged to recognize ways in which the characters communicate and express emotions. We will discuss each book's story elements: theme, plot, setting, characters and point of view. 

This class is ongoing, with a different book in the series being discussed each week. Feel free to join at any time!
