This class will meet for eight weeks. The students will be learning about fractions. Students will learn about different types of fractions such as mixed fractions, improper, and also how to add and subtract fractions

In this multi-day course (1 time a week every Sunday) the students will be learning about fractions. I believe that learning fractions is very important. Fractions will be used daily throughout every student's lives such as measurement when baking, measurement when building or cutting or using tools, when telling time. Overall, fractions tell you what portion of a whole you need, have, or want. Fractions are also building blocks to courses they will use later on: algebra, graphing, and more! Students will learn about: Week 1: Numerators and denominators Week 2: Simplest form Week 3: Equivalent Fractions Week 4: Add/Subtract Fractions with like denominators Week 5: Add/Subtract Fractions with unlike denominators Week 6: Add/Subtract Mixed Fractions with like denominators Week 7: Add/Subtract Mixed Fractions with unlike denominators Week 8: Final assessment.
