In this one off lesson students will learn all about nouns, verbs, and adverbs. They will learn what they are, how they are used, and how to use them within their own written work. We will begin the lesson discussing what nouns, verbs, and adverbs are and will play a couple of games based on fortnite. We will then look at applying our understanding of nouns, verbs, and adverbs to our own writing about fortnite which will be guided by the teacher. Students will then structure their own fortnite based piece of writing applying their newly learnt knowledge.
Learning Goals
To understand what nouns, verbs, and adverbs are and how they are used within writing in order to make it as accurate and descriptive as possible.

A pen or pencil and lined paper will be required for the class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hi there,
I am Laura, a teacher living and working in England. I have been a teaching for 18 years and love working with children.
I initially did a BA honours in English literature and then took another year at university to train as an English teacher. I then worked in a number of different high schools and one middle school teaching English, Drama, and Media studies to students aged between 9 and 18. I also tutor students privately in my own home. I have a 12 year old son of my own and we especially enjoy working together on writing projects.
I am very excited to work with young people online and offer exciting and engaging lessons in my specialist subjects.
