Class Experience

Class will be structured in the form of an experiment.

Students will be shown the 2 different paper airplanes they will be making at the beginning of class. Students will be told that a 'hypothesis' is an educated guess scientists make before conducting an experiment to see if their guess was right or wrong. Students will then be asked to make a hypothesis of what airplane they think will go the furthest and why and write it down on a piece of paper using this format. "I think plane ______ will fly the longest distance.

Students will follow directions to make 2 different types of paper airplanes.

Once students have completed their airplanes they will have the chance to fly them to see if their predictions were correct. Each student will then tell the class which one of their planes went the furthest and if it was the one they predicted.

Students are encouraged to decorate their paper airplanes after class using colouring utensils.

I am flexible to adapt my lesson based on the needs of the children enrolled to provide an inclusive environment for all. Please send me a private message with any accommodations that you feel would make a better experience for your student.
