Beginner Level
Each lesson will introduce two types of figurative language using interactive learning guides that explain their function, provide examples, and encourage learners to create their own examples to demonstrate understanding. Learners will complete activity worksheets during class while engaging with the group through shared visual slides. This lesson will introduce similes and metaphors, comparing two unlike things using "like" or "as" for similes and "is" or "are" for metaphors.

Haunted Hyperboles & Spooky Personification: Bringing Halloween to Life!
This lesson will introduce hyperboles, which involve exaggerated statements not meant to be taken literally, and personification, which attributes human qualities to nonhuman things.

Haunted Hisses and Creepy Clicks: Mastering Alliteration and Onomatopoeia
This lesson will introduce alliteration, the repetition of the same initial sound, and onomatopoeia, where words imitate the sounds they describe.

Ghostly Gags and Frightening Fun: Mastering Idioms and Puns
Our final lesson will be the grand finale, introducing idiomatic phrases—groups of words with meanings different from their literal sense—and puns, which play on words with multiple meanings or similar sounds but different meanings.
