Learn how to needle felt while creating this adorable little Gnome!

Class Experience

This is a fun intro class to the cool process of needle felting also known as wool painting. This is a dry felting process using a barbed needle and wool roving to create a felted Gnome.  Suggested age is 10 and up due to the sharp barbed needle, focus and dexterity required. The dry felting process of needle felting is achieved by continuously poking and stabbing the pure wool roving which causes the fibers to interlock and felt.

I love the feel and look of needle felted items/art and have been doing it for about 4 years. I have offered classes and workshops at various local county Fine Arts facilities and excited to share my love of this art form by offering classes online.

Items to Purchase: 
Felting needles (at least 2 in case of breakage)  
.5 oz packages of wool roving in white and colors of your choice for his body, hat and head 
Small foam block or Wool Buddy

I get my supplies at Hobby Lobby locally. Some Michaels have a few items. My favorite brands of roving are Artiste and Dimensions as the fiber is not too smooth and easier to felt. Another option is to order from Amazon, Ebay etc.
