This is a fun intro class to the cool process of needle felting also known as wool painting. This is a dry felting process using a barbed needle and wool roving to create a felted giraffe. Suggested age is 10 and up due to the sharp barbed needle required. The dry felting process of needle felting is achieved by continuously poking and stabbing the pure wool roving which causes the fibers to interlock and felt. In the 1st class we will start off making a giraffe skeleton using the fuzzy sticks. We will then use the wool and a needle to start creating his body and legs In the 2nd class we will continue working on his legs, add his neck and start adding his spots . I may ask for spots to be completed before the last class as I'm sure no one wants a class comprised entirely of adding spots :) In the last class we will create his head and add a tail. I will work each step of making the giraffe with the class.
